Zombies. As a kid I watched all of the Romero films and Return of the Living Dead
repeatedly. I liked the horror and action movies as all guys did.

Yet something about zombies really got to me. I couldn't put my finger on why, but
they scared me in a fun sort of way.

They still kind of do.

When Cornelius and I began to work on Stories from Arlington we went over the
many great stories he'd written to decide which ones would be put in the book. I
particularly took a fancy to Meat Left Out on a Kitchen Table Top.  It was because its
a zombie story.

Before working on the book I had in the back of my mind a short story of the living
dead which came from a short dream that I had. I thought It might be fun to draw it in
comic book format and put it in the book. Cornelius liked the idea.

The Awakening is actually just a prologue. There is much more to the story of the
distraught wife and her children. There is a history of the husband who's books brought
him back from the dead.

Will I draw all of the story? If time allows I may continue and publish the rest of it.
Only time will telll. Until then, enjoy the Stories from Arlington.
